There is, unfortunately, more bad news to report in the local beer scene:
Hickory Creek
This New Lenox brewery has announced that it will be transitioning its space to Pizza Di Farfalla, the restaurant that’s currently sharing their building. Founder Gary Meyer posted, “After 8 years of good times and great beers, the owner is retiring.… The timeline is not yet set, but we will be here for sure through June. The plan is to have a seamless transition from our business to theirs sometime this summer.” They have posted a schedule of regular events at least into the first week of July.
Tangled Roots
The Ottawa-based brewpub is looking at a potential sale of a partnership. Shaw Local quotes a company news release, which said, “This decision is being made from a position of strength and deep gratitude, with the primary goal of finding a strategic partner who can help write the next chapter of the Tangled Roots story.”
The potential deal would be focused on keeping the brewery open, as well as its attached bar, The Lone Buffalo. Tangled Roots also operated the Lock & Mule in Lockport, and restaurants in Vernon Hills, Glenview, and South Barrington.
Global Brew St. Charles
The Global Brew Tap House in St. Charles had also closed its door. Management posted that their primary issue has been ongoing roadwork in front of their location, although they were having issues with village government as well.
