Return of Alarmist?

Earlier this week, some social accounts linked to the closed Alarmist Brewing posted the illustration pictured here. News about the mysterious meme has been coming in dribs and drabs. The gist is that Pollyanna Brewing, which purchased Alarmist’s IP and recipes when they closed in February, will be reopening the brewery space. There’s a buildout underway already at 4055 W Peterson Ave.
This would be Pollyanna’s fifth location, and its first in Chicago proper. The expectation is that the space will resume operating as Alarmist, under Pollyanna’s direction.
No date has been set yet for the reopening, but the expectation is that they will have a kitchen, and will carry Alarmist’s three core brands: Le Jus (the first GABF winner in the Hazy IPA category), Pantsless Pale Ale, and Crispy Boy pilsener.
Most of this info is from Doug Veliki, Beer Aficionado, with confirmation from Pollyanna.
Update: Thursday morning, Pollyanna confirmed the news on their own social accounts (which I can’t access from my work computer). They say the site will open as a Pollyanna room, but focused on the original Alarmist beers. The first batch of Le Jus, they report, is already in the fermenters.
It’s also worth noting that the address had at one time been home to the Siebel Institute of Technology, which trained brewmasters in the US and from around the world for over 150 years.
World Cup
Yes, we’re down to the Quarterfinals, with no participation by any of the host countries. I’ll keep posting them as I see them.
