The Lucky Monk Expands
While we’ve seen the bad news of a lot of brewers and tap rooms closing, there is also the occasional bright spot of a place that’s opening. More specifically, and established beer maker preparing a second taproom.
Patch reports that The Lucky Monk in South Barrington is seeking a license to sell beer on premise in Downers Grove. The north side location is 1461 Butterfield Road, the site of the closed Brick House Tavern.
Their announced plan is to sell beer brewed at the new site, and to offer a menu of upscale burgers, ribs, pizza and more.
(I had done a review of the South Barrington pub some years ago, but it seems to have fallen off my list ofposts).
