Kind of a misleading headline, I know. Chicago Beer Week folded into Illinois Craft Beer Week, which is consists of one event, Beer Under Glass, and a passport promotion. But we do have Dark Lord Day coming this weekend, and tickets are still available.
Anheuser Busch
I’m mentioning this as kind of a barometer for the brewing industry in general. Anheuser Busch has sold off its East Coast brewing plant. The Newark, NJ brewery began operations nearly 75 years ago, and was recognized by the neon flying eagle trademark on its roof.
The building was sold for a reported $350 million to Goodman North America Management, which plans to redevelop the site as a logistics center.
A-B said back in December that it would be selling three of its breweries, including the Newark facility. (Costar.com)
