I thought I’d get a break after the rush of Black Friday events, but now the holiday stuff is building at a furious pace. But I want to do wheat I can to promote social activities at local breweries and bars, to help them keep their business in this slow economic time.

While Berlin nightclub was not really in the craft beer orbit, it’s closing this November could be a sign of issues to come in the small brewery space. If and when small brewers expand into more markets and add personnel, individual breweries could find its employees wanting to unionize as well. We have already seen conflict caused when Goose Island employees tried to organize before COVID. Let’s just hope a more equitable relationship can be maintained.
