We have some more goings and coming to report this week.
D&G Brewing in St. Charles had posted that after six years of business they will be closing their doors. This was owed, they only said to a number of economic factors. “When will all this happen? We planned to be open until the taps run dry or around May 18th.”
Also, On Tour Brewing on W. Hubbard in Chicago has posted that are concluding operations at the end of the month. “We will officially be saying goodbye on Tuesday, April 29th with a special event filled with one to everyone who helped make on tour the community.” THIS IS IN PREPARATION FOR THE REVIVED LINKS TAPROOM TAKING OVER THE SPACE, WITH SOME POSSIBLE PLANS TO CONTINUE BREWING.
Meanwhile, remember 5 Rabbit Cervecería? Chicago’s first Latin-themed brewery closed their production brewery in Bridgeview in 2022. Their plan was to shift to a brewpub to be built in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. Since then, though, very little progress has been announced. Now, Chicago developer Condor Partners has settled a foreclosure suit and recapitalized on a project to turn two former lumber warehouses into loft offices, with 5 Rabbit as anchor. An article in Costar suggests the brewpub might open as early as this summer.
Oh, and one other thing. With 3 Floyds’ Dark Lord Day coming up May 17, Beer on the Wall has begun booking for buses to the event in Munster. A choice of times is available from and back to the bottle shop in Park Ridge. Tickets are $19.99 each way.
