Time again to write up a beer that has been sent to me by the brewer’s reps for my comment.
Victory Brewing Co. of Downington, PA, started out in 1996. They got wide notice with Prima Pils, recognized as a standard for the style, and with Golden Monkey, a strong Belgian-style ale. The latter has been the springboard for a whole “Monkey” line of special beers. Their latest iteration is Juicy Monkey, a hazy Imperial India Pale Ale. This is a 9.5% abv beer, which is described by Victory as “Upfront pineapple and orange aroma meet Sabro, Lotus and Sultana hops.”
Back to the beer:

The sample I was sent offered up a big nose of orange pineapple, as promised, even as I was pouring from the can. It has a bright gold beer color, but with just a little bit of noticeable haze.
Taste is, again, a regular fruit juicebox. I will suppose this was all done through the hop mix. packaging seems to claim was all done with the exotic hops. Conversely, though, I got very little hop bitterness. In the end, it comes across as just a little too sweet for my taste.
