Here’s a list of the Illinois that medaled in last weekend’s Great American Beer Festival. The 2017 GABF was held in Denver, CO, under auspices of the Brewers Association, and saw 7,923 competition entries from 2,217 U.S. breweries.
Medals were awarded to 286 beers in 96 beer style categories. Here are winners from Illinois. On Tour Brewing of Chicago came home with two medals and was acknoledged as “Very Small Brewing Company of the Year.” Halstorm of Tinley Park won in a field of 408 entries for American-style India Pale Ale, the most competitive category at GABF.
