A few notes about this & that:
Three Floyds Brewing has put its 30th Anniversary Dark Lord on sale at their kiosk in Munster over the weekend. Some of the bottles are also expected to hit retail shelves this week. I will try to follow along and keep updating as I hear about which stores have them. I checked at my local Binny’s this weekend, and the “beer guy” said they usually don’t know what comes in from a distributor until it just shows up. This retail offering might also include their Dark Lord barrel-aged whiskey.
Here’s an advance notice for Festival of Barrel-Aged Beer. That’s November 13 and 14 at Credit Union 1 Arena, 525 S. Racine Ave. Hosted by the Illinois Craft Brewers Guild, FoBAB brings together over 250 barrel-aged beers, meads and ciders from around the U.S. If you need a break from heavy barrel-aged stuff, there’s the 2nd floor Lager Lounge, with lighter pours from local brewers.
Sessions are Friday from 6 to 10 pm, or Sunday from 1 to 5 pm, with one hour early entrance for IMBIBE members. Tickets start at $98.14 (Universe.com).
And here’s a little note that Wild Onion Brewing in Lake Barrington has paused its production brewing on premise while they update their brewery equipment and seek new production licenses. Until they are back in production, they will feature other local beers as guest taps.
