Here’s another look at a beer I received for my comment.
I’ve discussed Elysian Brewing of Seattle, WA before. Last year, I sampled my way through their Space Dust variants. Back in 2018, I picked up my own can of the Def Leppard Pale Ale.

Now they’re offering a new regular beer, which doesn’t use the crushed hops that mark their “Dust” beers.
Here’s the description they are offering:
Brewed with Citra and Idaho 7 hops, Jacktail opens with bright notes of mango, papaya and citrus zest, balanced by a smooth, lightly sweet body and soft finish. Refreshing without losing depth, this is the kind of beer you reach for after a long ride, a swim in cold water, or a slow evening watching the fire burn down.
So as I do with most beers sent to write about, I shot a video about it for my One Take Beer Review series:
Elysian Jacktail
Tasting:
The pour is indeed hazy: pale yellow with white highlights. A pure white head of foam that goes from solid to sudsy in about a minute.
The nose brings in the tropical fruits and citrus as promised. I don’t have any expertise with papaya, so I’ll just call it “tropical fruits.”
The taste starts with a definite, though light, hop bitterness. Then more citrus and fruit, all from the hop mixture, and I start to pick up a note of mango.
The malt stays on the light side, just a little sweet. It comes in kind of separate from the hop note.
This IPA is definitely more sessionable than the Space Dust series, and makes for a decent complement.
