It’s coming up on the last Wednesday of the month, which means it’s time for another Pfiff! — our monthly “work from Dovetail” day where we open up our taproom early for office hours, featuring small pours of beer (aka a pfiff) and guest coffee brewers from around the city.
For June, our guest brewers are Sip Society—who also happen to be our new neighbors across the street on Belle Plaine. Sip Society is an educational coffee collective that offers workshops for home enthusiasts and coffee professionals in their unique studio on Malt Row. How cool is that?
For their first Pfiff, they’ll be brewing a brand-new bean co-fermented with hops, as part of their in-house label, Experimental Coffee. What the heck does a coffee co-fermented with hops taste like? What the heck does that even mean? Well, you’ll just have to come on by to find out.

The FREE Tinley Park Ale Trail Trolleys are returning for another year of fun! Come out from 5 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays starting June 3rd through Aug. 26th and hop on one of two trolleys that will be making the rounds at Banging Gavel, SIP Wine Bar, Flipside Brewing, Hailstorm Brewing Co., Soundgrowler. and Hillgrove Tap.
The route is continuous, so you can hop on or off at any stop along the way! Trolleys will arrive at each stop about every 30 minutes, and both trolleys are ADA-compliant. A real-time GPS map will be available on the Village website showing the current location of each trolley. Please note that these maps will only be live while the trolleys are running.
It’s sure to be another summer of fun, so start planning today!

We're pairing up craft beverage makers from Chicago's famous Malt Row with small businesses along Damen Ave! Enjoy drinks crafted right here in the neighborhood, shop & support local, and spend time with fellow community members all in one brew-tiful summer evening.
Tickets are $32.00 per person (or 4 for $120) and include 14 tasting pours (five ounces for beer, two ounces for wine, one ounce for liquor, and a small scoop of ice cream), a Malt Row tasting glass, coozie/lanyard combo, and a tote bag filled with neighborhood flyers, coupons, and goodies. This event is 21+ and rain or shine.

Malt Row on Damen is a rare opportunity to sample a variety of our neighborhood’s breweries, distilleries, and wineries at one event. It’s also a unique way to explore and support the eclectic mix of entrepreneurs doing business on Damen. First, you’ll visit our check-in tent (location TBD) to get your wristband, map, punch card, tasting glass and coozie, and tote bag. Then, you’re off to sample some cold brews and check out some cool local businesses!
This event is 21+ and will be held rain or shine from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Check-in time is from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Alcoholic beverages can not leave the premises where they are poured. IDs will be checked. All ticket sales are final.
Ticket sales end at 12:00pm on June 24th, 2026. If there are any remaining tickets, they will be available for purchase at the check-in table during the event.

Join us for the fourth annual Grown-Up Spelling Bee! This event supports Open Books, a nonprofit literacy organization in Chicago.
By attending the Grown-Up Spelling Bee, you’re supporting literacy and book-access work across Chicago!
Open Books provides children’s literacy programs, including one-on-one reading practice, storytime in early-childhood centers, and parent/caregiver workshops. Open Books also gives children access to books by donating high-quality books to Chicago communities, and through the free Open Books Mobile and free children’s bookstore in Pilsen.
Event Details
The first three rounds of the Grown-Up Spelling Bee are trivia-style. Work with your team (or by yourself) to spell the words on paper. For the fourth round, the top three teams send their best speller to the front for a traditional, out-loud spelling bee, and to bring home glory for their team!
Plus, amazing prize bundles will be raffled off between spelling rounds. Raffle tickets are available to purchase through Eventbrite or in person at the event. $5 for 1 ticket, or $25 for 6 tickets.
Drinks will be available for purchase at Midwest Coast Brewing Company. Pizza will be available for purchase from a pop-up with Five Squared Pizza.
You may form teams of up to 10 people (each person must purchase a ticket)
Raffle tickets: $5 for 1 ticket, or $25 for 6 tickets (purchase through Eventbrite or in person at the event)
Doors open at 6 p.m. The Spelling Bee begins at 7 p.m.
Bring Your Book Donations!
Open Books will be collecting book donations at the Spelling Bee! If you have any old books you need to get out of the house, this is the perfect time to declutter. The donated books help support Open Books' literacy programs.
