Casa Humilde
Forest Park’s Casa Humilde posted earlier this week that they will be closing, with their last day of service to be March 1.
Casa Humilde is closing its doors on Sunday, March 1. This final week, we’ll be open Wednesday-Sunday with $5 drafts all week. Come raise a glass with us and help us celebrate these final days.

This comes just one week after Whiner Brewing prepared to close its Back of the Yards location. It can’t be a mere coincidence that the breweries in Latino areas, where social has been curtailed by the depredations of Trump’s fascist ICE raids.
Grainology
Grainology Brewstillery in Batavia closed “temporarily” last September for remodeling. Nothing was heard from them since. And now, their equipment has been spotted for sale through BCL Auctions.
BrewDog
I never got around to noting that Scotland’s popular BrewDog is shooping for a buyer. The “Punk” brewery, founded in 2007, had just posted a loss last year of £37 million. Co-founder Martin Dickie abruptly quit the company last August. This left Jamie Watt to partner with a consulting firm to seek a buyout.
BrewDog’s reputation took a hit after a 2022 BBC Scotland documentary describing a toxic work environment and sexual harassment. Over 200,000 people had supported in BrewDog under its “Equity for Punks” stock offerings. They now face the prospect of losing their investments.
